Damian Keogh was our special guest at the Affogato Club lunch held at The Chophouse in November. You may remember Damian as the former Sydney Kings and Australian Boomers basketball captain. These days he keeps busy as the CEO of cinema advertising network Val Morgan as well as chairman of the Cronulla Sharks Rugby League Club. Our MC for the Affogato Club, Mark Warren, chatted with Damian about the challenges facing the Cronulla Sharks around the performance enhancing drugs scandal that has enveloped the sport of Rugby League. Damian also discussed the merits of recent player acquisitions and what the Sharks were doing to attain long term viability off the field.
We were also privileged to have Steve Mortimer and Jeff Fenech in attendance. Steve and Jeff were happy to share stories from some of their sporting experiences. Steve shared some great stories from his days as captain of the NSW State of Origin team. Jeff shared some interesting stories from his time in the ring, experiences with Mike Tyson as well as his views on current Australian boxing talent.
Lucky winner of the Chilli Port was Patrick Keating. The way Patrick finished off the night shows how much he enjoyed the liquid nourishment.
