Another cracker of a lunch! A big thanks to our guest speaker, legend of league ‘hard man’ Noel “Ned” Kelly. Noel is an ambassador for the Men of League and shared some great stories from his time as a Western Suburb Magpie, Queensland and Australian hooker.
It was great to have Barry Ross and Ben Ross from Men of League who kept us entertained for the afternoon.
Thanks to the boys at William Hill for putting up the bets on the day. It has been confirmed that Noel’s bets did get up so there will be some coin going to his charity. A free William Hill betting voucher was awarded to Jeremy Halpin whose business card was first drawn from the hat.
It’s not every day the MC gets our most distinguished prize ….. the chilli port! Well done Mark, the mail on the street is that you may have required a couple of extra pairs of underpants on Saturday! Looking forward to getting Mark’s nemesis Peter back for the next lunch to spark things up a bit!
Thanks to those guys who supported the Men of League Foundation and joined up as members on the day. The Affogato club will continue to support this great organisation.
