Another highly entertaining Affagato lunch had by all at the Chop House. Special guest Richard Callander was joined by ex Rabbitohs Manoa Thompson and Darren Brown. The lunch was perfectly timed to coincide with Jarryd Haynes final NFL trial to make it onto the team for San Francisco 49ers. Thanks to Manoa Thompson for coming along and giving us an update on Jarryd’s journey at the
49ers. He was extremely excited to see his son do so well and subsequently make the team.
Big thanks to Richie Callander for the hilarious insight into the world of horse racing. The Cummings family send their regards. Not many people can keep Mark Warren quiet for longer than 30 minutes, so Richie was in his element recalling stories of his punting exploits and taking the piss out of his old man (Ken Callander). Pete Lawson felt a little left out on the comedy front and contributed his one liners from the sidelines.
The business card “chilli port” draw was awarded to Manoa Thompson. Sorry Manoa, but it does state in the Affogato constitution that no one is exempt however you were fortunate that Browny shared the load to finish off the chilli port. Not sure Browny was able to follow too much in the Souths game later that night. The Austero lads are stamped urgent to win the chilli port.
Once again, it was great to have Johnny Lewis present as our patron. Thanks to young Rabs- Mark Warren for the usual good job in running the show on the day. Just for the record, you do have a black belt in interrupting speakers!
Thanks to Joel Caine from Sports Bet for putting up the charity bet for Richard’s charity.
